Tau Pok is firm and dense in texture and it holds up well in deep-fried and stir-fried dishes or for barbeques. Ideal for all types of cooking. This is a fried bean curd that is quite flat and has a spongy center. It is good for salads, soup and grilling and is used as a casing to stuff fillings in. Usually stuffed with just fresh cucumber slices and bean sprouts.
It is high in protein and fat but it has a much lower calcium content. Also, the low calories and fiber content in Tao Pok aid in weight control when part of a balanced diet formed.
